Music City came together for a charity benefit concert in honor of the late country music legend Toby Keith
Toby Keith: American Icon, took over Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on July 29th. The special tribute show brought together some of the most prominent names in country music to remember Toby Keith and celebrate his life and legacy.
Performers for the evening included Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Ashley McBryde, Parker McCollum, Jelly Roll, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson, and The War And Treaty, among others.
To add to the significance of the night, a portion of the ticket proceeds went to support both The Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral, which provides a cost-free home for families of children undergoing cancer treatment, as well as the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN.
These efforts continue Toby Keith’s mission and add to the great work he did during his lifetime.
Carrie Underwood remembers Toby Keith after his passing
When news of Toby Keith’s tragic passing was announced in February, many artists shared tributes to the legendary musician. Carrie Underwood shared a series of photos with her friend and fellow “Okie,” and wrote:
“Saddle up the horses, Jesus, ‘cause a true blue COWBOY just made his ride up to heaven!!! Introduce him to all the Okies and sign that boy up for the choir! We’re gonna miss you, Toby, but my heart has no doubt that you are standing in the presence of our King right now!!! See you again someday, friend.”
